Ifferdale Farmhouse Accommodation ArgyllOwned and worked by the Gemmill family since 1949, Ifferdale Farm encompasses 780 acres of the heavenly Saddell Glen. The farmhouse is at the top of the glen, 1.5 miles from the main road. We have recently renovated the steading to provide bunkhouse and self catering accommodation.

Sustainable Living in Rural Scotland

img092We are investing in managing and preserving this little part of the Scottish countryside, and hope to provide a secure farming future for generations to come.

The renovation is heated by a Biomass boiler providing endless hot water whilst contributing to the sustainable vision of the farm.

Over the years we have planted shelter belts and hedgerows which have multiplied the local nesting bird population, and swallows return here every year.

Immerse Yourself in Nature

Ifferdale Farm is set deep in the countryside, surrounded by   ancient forestry buzzing with wildlife and wildflowers.

Our children are kept active with their hens and ducks along with many other childhood games, climbing trees, buildings dens and cycling.

Walk along the hawthorn hedgerows
and take in the scents of the wildflowers such as wild garlic and dog rose. Picking brambles in autumn add to the pleasurable country holiday.

Nearby Saddell Beach
is great for swimming or paddling. Taking a picnic while watching the oystercatchers at is one of many memorable ways to spend the days around the farm.
